Join the Summoned coming at the Crossing

You were summoned.
Not to watch, but to go.

You grew up in Midgard.

You remember walking out of the city gates for the first time.

Your character did every brave thing.

You watched, and you clicked.

Kohaku rises on its hind legs and lifts a paw; a ribbon of warm light trails from its cloak.

here, take it.

Kohaku lights the first step.

You walk the rest.

Your hand is the swing.
Your nerve is the parry.
Your wits are the plan.

The old laws still decide.

What your hands already do

Everything marked in the build works on our test server today. Most of it is still waiting for its night in the headset.

Built on one 8 GB laptop and a lot of late nights. The first real test humbled us, so we tore the combat down and rebuilt it. It's flat sprites in an old world, made by hand, and it will make your arms tired. It's not for people who want the game to play for them, or who need AAA polish.

  • in the build
  • being built
  • on the road

Every VR swing lands exactly as many hits as the classic auto-attack would.

We checked it at every rhythm from 200 to 1000 milliseconds, and more than 5,300 automated tests run on every change. Your skill adds to the old numbers. It never replaces them.

Watch it in the Crossing Log

    The road so far

Three weeks, eight versions, one laptop.

    What's still unmade

We'd rather show you the gaps than hide them.

    One model
made by us in Blender: our time only. A finer remake: about $0.50 in tools
    One server
about $12–24 a month (estimate, priced when we rent it)
    The domain
bought at cost, about $11 a year
    Our time
    free, and slow

    slow, but ours.

An oil lamp. Its oil level shows how much of this month's server cost is covered.

    Lantern Oil

A server is a lantern. It burns a little oil every month.

Isekai to Midgard runs on donations and nothing else. This jar pays for one thing: the server that keeps Midgard awake. Nothing for sale but the oil: no paid power, no boosts, no gacha.

Our promise, both ways. Every coin and every cost goes on this page, month by month. If the oil runs dry three months in a row, we let the lantern rest: we stop taking donations the same day, save every character, and close the door politely.

    Waystones

The bigger steps on the road. Each one lights when it's paid for, never before, and never with a date attached.

      The road ahead

No dates. We'd rather arrive late than broken.

      1. Now

        You are here

One laptop, one headset, many late nights. Everything above runs here.

      2. A server for friends

        Waystone I

Invite only. A handful of friends, to learn whether two people can share Midgard.

      3. Closed beta

        Invitations from the waitlist

Fair-play checks, moderation and a stress test come first. Then some of the Summoned step through.

      4. The Crossing

        The door opens

Free, in your Quest browser. Get isekai'd.

      Stop watching. Go.

Join the Summoned: one email when a Waystone lights up, and one when the door opens. Nothing else. Leave anytime.

We keep your email and the day you joined, nothing else. Privacy
